Further education

Today the dynamics of change processes require that employees invest in the continuous updating and adjustment of their skills and abilities in a life long process of learning. The Institute of Management and Tourism recognises the importance of lifelong learning as a key characteristic for coping with future challenges and thus supports further education in tourism.

Target groups for further education are both academics in the field of professional scientific training as well as players in the local tourism industry. Research activites in the field of further education and in cooperation with external partners span for example:

  • Mediation of further education offers between tourism players and providers of further education
  • Consulting for further education
  • Implementation of further education measures

With a commitment to further education, it is necessary to establish a systematic qualification process in order to support long term improved quality in tourism products and services especially in Schleswig- Holstein, as well as to influence the structural policy and employment market.
